EXCELLENT SPIRIT

The same spirit that was in Daniel that made the king say that he has an excellent spirit is in you as a believer, the Holy Spirit, the bible talked about our Lord Jesus Christ in Isaiah 11:2 

“And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; “

The spirit of the Lord manifested those things in Him, wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord; that is why the verse started with “and the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him”, they were not different spirits but the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit in you. Praying for an excellent Spirit is not it, you are not trying to make the Spirit in you excellent, but you want to manifest excellence in your academics, the prayer should be directed towards allowing the work of the Holy Spirit (excellent Spirit) in you, not praying for the Holy Spirit to become excellent. Glory! So, you go into any examination hall with this mindset that you have an excellent Spirit in you, OK?

Secondly, what differentiates some students from others is not because they are geniuses, it’s because they are smart. Few days to the exam or paper is not the time to be reading per say (the hard work should have been done), it’s the time for you to arrange what you want to write down logically in your brain/memory. It is the time for you to tag those things (possible questions that will come out) you want to remember with things or people you are already used to e.g. Belgium to Bell in church, acronymizing lists of things and so on. 

Also, when unbelievers say things like “it’s too complex” about a course, you saying the same thing makes you no different from them, you should actually take interest in those kinds of things, because an excellent Spirit dwells in you. Activate those manifestations from the Spirit in you, pray and read it again, you will understand because you actually have the Spirit of understanding in you Isaiah 11:2.

Lastly, it pains me to the heart that the knowledge we claim to have is actually not knowledge, many of us see having directions from God as a license to be lazy, many of us wait till exam or continue praying that the Holy Spirit should reveal questions to us, see, you are deceiving yourself if you have not been reading deliberately. Yes! It works, the Holy Spirit reveals and tells you to read this part, but not because you were lazy, this is why some unbelievers do better in some fields than even first class believers. Why? It’s because they know something about every part of their course, they read all and pick little things all round, but we only pick those things we have been directed to read.

Praying for direction concerning what to read should be utilized during exams, having done or read all, I now say Lord, which of these will come out, that is the proper way. Also, do not wait for confusion to set in during or after your exams, do not wait after the exam to allow the so-called geniuses to prove to you that you were wrong, do not try to calculate your score by what you have answered and the marks tagged to them, these things are what the devil uses to limit you. Dare to profess that you are right, it might be funny, convince yourself that you have written the right thing and you will definitely see the right results.

SMALL BEGINNINGS

We humans -if not all of us- want to impact lives one way or the other, We want to have territories under the control; we want to control the world of academics, agriculture, energy, finance, technology and so on. We all -though some have gotten over it- have dreams when we were small, but over time the knowledge that the predominant school of life (as I call it, LOL) presents have been accepted by many naturally. Unconsciously, everyone attends this school one way or the other but not all use up the knowledge gotten from it, not everyone is influenced by it, and not everyone lives according to its standard.


 You talk to some people and you get angry at the way their minds has been tuned (you know our mind is the neutral line between the spiritual and the physical, it’s the deciding component  of our being-Olatunji Ezekiel-,as Edmund Burke puts it “The human mind is often, and I think it is for the most part, in a state neither of pain nor pleasure, which I call a state of indifference.”) automatically to accept things the way they are –whether good or bad-  You will get to know that they have been influenced by their environment. You see children waiting to inherit their parent’s wealth, why?  They have automatically attended the predominant school of life and have absorbed the knowledge it presents. They don’t want to break out on their own, their mind has been corrupted-having a reprobate mind does not necessarily means a sinful mind, it is a mind that has been compromised by the environment?


Before anything can be achieved, it has to be conceived or birth by the mind of the individual (The empires of the future are the empires of the mind. Winston Churchill). We feel like impacting the world, Yes!, that’s who we are (that sounds great), as lights of the world, we cannot afford to hide. At this point, I will like to ask, hope your mind has not been corrupted by the school of life? funny name right?: school of life, LOL-. It might sound funny but it’s the truth. The Bible says “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind”. Examine yourself... as Jim Rohn puts it “I found that when you start thinking and saying what you really want then your mind automatically shifts and pulls you in that direction. And sometimes it can be that simple, just a little twist in vocabulary that illustrates your attitude and philosophy”.  With the right mindset, you are good to go. You hear it everywhere that you have to plan well before you start, yeah it is true, but I tell you that planning itself, sometimes, can be a form of procrastination, think about that...


Also, I will like to inform you that you have to start from where you are, no matter how small because the bible says “Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly”, Christ started small and his end was great, which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. That environment of yours is the best. OK?, God is perfect (Matt 5:48), He does not make mistakes and He will surely not start by placing you in the wrong environment because He is the same today, yesterday and forever (Heb 13:8).That environment was made for you, for the kind of future you have, those people good or bad- were placed there for your proper growth and adequate nourishment. You get trained in that environment you are. Those that infuriate your anger have been placed there so that you can grow one of the components of the fruit; Gentleness (Gal 5:22-23). Christ started from where He was, even when some people did not accept him- and later went about doing good in other countries(Acts 10:38),He even told the Apostles to start witnessing from where they are -their surroundings,Jerusalem, He was trained in his environment for thirty years before He began his ministry.


Yeah, it’s a very good thing to dream and think big, but know this that, what you are doing around you (in your environment) is what will be multiplied exponentially to give you your Big Picture of impacting the world. Ask yourself this question, how many lives have I impacted around me? , your answer will bring to your awareness where you are to start from (maybe your mind or environment)...I say to you “despise not the days of small beginnings”.

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

Hello my friend, hope you have been enjoying each hour since the year began? People do say “New Year Resolution”, but really, what does this mean? It’s simply your motto for the year, just that? Yes, just that-. The validity of this resolution of yours is in your hands, just like a text picture I saw recently , it says that many people’s new year resolution will become useless by the end of the first week of the year ,and now some hours has gone –it will be such a relief if nothing has happened to yours,I once told a group of people that I do have my own year resolution on my birthday (November 3rd, in case you do not know, LOL) , because that day marks my own new year.

From a general viewpoint, People think this resolution is all about depending on God ‘s promises and not striving/working towards it and so they give it different tags like ,”My year of new beginnings” ,”My year of excellence” and so on...No!!!, because after a "willing", there is a "doing" and Yes!!! Because it includes depending on God’s promises, but there’s this part People miss –which is very important- it’s the part of reflecting on the previous year and years to come. Your resolution for the year is not complete if you have not reflected, because that is the point where you make conclusions which are "The Resolution" itself. These thought-provoking questions might help you;

1.   What are those things I could not achieve last year, that were part of my previous resolution?
2.   What other values-spiritual, financial, academic...-do I need to add to myself before this time next year?
3.   Concerning my future, what other gifts/potential/thing do I need to develop over time knowing the kind of person God is making me?
4.   Whose/what standards do I want to live by? God's or mine, and so on.

 After answering these questions that might help in making the conclusion. Set standards in line with those conclusions of yours. For instance, oh!!!, my day is not complete if I have not done this –might be praying for one hour, studying for six hours, being nicer, preach the gospel, give effectively even if it affects, done the most important task for the day, listen more, sleep at most 5 hours, engage in automobile university (mobile learning or learning on the go)...,also weekly – might be to fast at least once a week, write an article, at least one vigil per week, read at least a book, also monthly -might be to read at least three books, memorize twenty bible verses- and so on.

It’s not quite easy as humans to set standards for ourselves and keep them, because no higher authority is involved in enforcing it. This is where FOCUS comes in. You need to set your face like a flint, unshakable-Isaiah 50:7, because a double minded is unstable in his ways-James 1:8. Focus is different from determination- hope you know?, determination comes before focus, one must be determined to pursue a goal, before he or she can focus on that goal. Focus is concentrating your energy on something, Rick Warren said in one of his books that when you know your purpose , it will make you focus your energy. He compared focus to the pointed hill sole-permit me to use that- of the female shoe, it can break through something, that’s focus while the determination is what comes before focusing, it is making up your mind about something. Brian Tracy also, in one of his books said that, those who have their goals written down over the years have been observed to always achieve (at least 65% of their written goals) more than those that don’t write, as they become proper time managers, the percentage increases, I’m a living proof of that.

 

In conclusion, I’ll like to inform you that, with your old nature, that resolution can’t be carried out. A minister –Pastor Sam Adeyemi- once said that it is like a dog saying he won’t bark anymore, can it? No!!!, not with that nature it has!!!, It can’t change that, it is his nature , so also you can’t change some habits without having a change of nature...Jesus told Nicodemus “You must be born again”, Why??? Because you get your nature from the one who gave birth to you, you cannot have the nature of an eagle when a dog gave birth to you. Jesus had this Kingdom nature in him, that was why He could do supernatural things naturally. You need a change of nature to fulfill those plans of yours- you need God’s nature if you know within yourself that you do not have it-.

This is what I call New Year Resolution- like I said before now, though not all have been discussed here but I believe the knowledge passed across will be utilized by you, my friend.

REASONS FOR CHRIST'S BIRTH

Many of us celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (Christmas) without knowing the reason for His birth,this is very bad, it’s not just about the stories,Carol,food and others but the actualization and realization of the reasons for his birth, which will be discussed as you read on.

*RECONCILIATION 

Since the first Adam disobeyed God,a wall of partition grew between God and man,Christ was birth to, so that He can break that wall(Ephesians 2:14).He is Jehovah Shalom. 

*FULFILLMENT OF GOD'S PROPHECY AND PROMISE
Some Prophets of old in Israel(Isaiah 9,Jeremiah 23,Ezekiel 34:23) once prophesied about Christ's birth...so His birth is the fulfilment of prophecy. The promise was given to the Seed of Abraham ,that is Christ (Gal. 3:16), and since we have received the Gospel through faith ,we have the Spirit of God that makes us one of God's  children, thereby co-heirs with Christ.(Gal.4:5-7).So you also have access to the promise as you are now a co-heir with Christ.

*REMISSION OF SIN 
Christ came for the remission (cancellation) of sin not cleansing of sin,He came to destroy sin totally(Hebrew 9:36),Lest you forget that blood of animals were used for cleansing of sin by the priests in the old testament,since Christ came to remiss sin,there is no more need for offering...,He went into the holiest of holies and gave his own incorruptible blood for remission of the sins of the world, once and for all(Hebrews 10:18),if we can overcome sin,then we definitely will overcome death. 

*RANSOM 
Out of His unconditional love,He gave His life up as a ransom for us(Matt 20:28),He is our Messiah,Savior... 
 

*CONQUER DEATH 
Christ also came so that He could conquer death,to become the Firstborn of the dead,to defeat death so that we too through faith being sons and daughters of God will resurrect and also defeat death in the end,since we are co-heirs(Romans 8:17,1 Corinthians 15-55-57). 
 We can now see that the saying ''Christ is the reason for the season'' is no fallacy.All the a fore-mentioned and much more are the reasons why Christ was born and thank God He fulfilled his purpose -are you fulfilling yours?- ,do you even know the reason why you were born?,  because if you do not know, there is no way you can fulfil purpose, will it be written about you that you fulfilled purpose?, I pray that we will all fulfil purpose in Jesus name, Amen.

TIME

Time is the most precious treasure on earth,

it determines your future,

the totality of your destiny,

whether you'll be successful or not.

A tick is a treasure that can change lives,

it changes destiny,

even rapture will occur in a tick,

times and season change in a tick.

All you will need to succeed is a waste,

if not used appropriately,

all can be utilised in the right tick,

 else it will be water in a basket.

People do not  know that the tick tack means a lot,

many say "there's still time",

time waits for no one because it's running,

it does not  run anymore, it now flies.

Manage it because you do not  know the tick,

that will take you to the peak,

manage every tick like many treasures,

make good use of every tick you have.

Sooner, closer than you expect or think,

as the sun sets and rises,

that long expected future is at hand,

every tick brings the future closer.

Do you want a bright future? Now is the time,

work out your future now,

God already gave you the go ahead,

your destiny lies within your hands.

DR. MYLES MUNROE

Dr. Myles Munroe (20 April 1954 - 9 November 2014) was the president and founder of the Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI) and Myles Munroe International (MMI), a Christian growth and resource centre that includes leadership training institutes, a missions agency, a publishing company, a television network, radio and Web communications, and a church community. He was chief executive officer and chairman of the board of the International Third World Leaders Association and president of the International Leadership Training Institute.

Dr Myles Munroe was born in 1954 and had been a lifetime resident of the Bahamas. He has degrees in fine arts, education and theology from Oral Roberts University (1978), a Master’s degree in administration from the University of Tulsa (1980. He also served as an adjunct Professor of the Graduate School of Theology at Oral Roberts University. His wife, Ruth Munroe was co-pastor with him at BFMI. He had a son Chairo (Myles Jr.) and daughter Charisa and said that his family is his greatest responsibility and his marriage his most sacred trust.

Dr. Munroe was a pastor, teacher, administrator, author, a father, a husband and motivational speaker. He travelled throughout the world as a speaker addressing governments’ leaders, businesses, schools/universities and church congregations. He personally addressed over 500,000 people each year on personal and professional development, and he received hundreds of invitations every year to speak worldwide.

Dr. Munroe placed an emphasis on the Kingdom of God and believed that the whole Bible, along with the message of Jesus, revolves around the kingdom and not a religion. He said, "My vision, is wrapped up in one statement: I exist to transform followers into leaders. My philosophy is, trapped in every follower is a leader. My belief is, if that person is placed in the right environment, the leader will manifest himself or herself.”

Dr. Myles Munroe died on November 9, 2014 in a plane crash in Grand Bahama Ship Yard. His plane flew low and struck a crane. He, his wife, and 7 others died in the crash.

Myles Munroe was the author or co-author of over 100 books, study guides, and audio tapes currently in print, and he was a contributing writer for various Bible editions, journals, magazines, and newsletters, such as The Believer’s Topical Bible, The African Cultural Heritage Topical Bible, Charisma Life Christian Magazine, and Ministries Today. FIVE CLASSES OF PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH OF GOD

In this blog by the Grace of God, l will be discussing the five classes of people in the church. I strongly believe that in subsequent paragraphs, the Lord will minister unto you to know the right class to which you belong and grant unto you the Grace to take the necessary steps needed in Jesus name. Amen. 

In a vehicle, using the Nigerian Public Transport System as a case study, we have the Driver, the Conductor and the Passengers who are of three types namely; the weary,worldly and the focused passengers. 

*THE WEARY PASSENGERS. 

This class of passengers(Christians) are tired and weak,all they do is doze off in the vehicle(Church).They are Christians that the Shepherd needs to help and pray for.They are babes in Christ, still needs to be fed with milk and not strong meat. 

*THE WORLDLY PASSENGERS. 

This class of passengers(Christians) are always busy watching the beautiful scenes of the streets while in the vehicle(Church). They are Christians distracted from Christ. They care more about the things of the world than Christ. 

*THE FOCUSED PASSENGERS. 

This class of passengers are conscious of where they are going, they notify the driver immediately they get to their destination. They are goal-oriented and steadfast Christians. They do not look unto man but only look unto Jesus to take them to their expected end/destination which is Heaven. 

*THE CONDUCTORS. 

This class calls in passengers(Christians) but does not go to the same destination with the passengers. They are a group of lukewarm Christians that evangelise. 

*THE DRIVERS. 

 This class must not sleep nor slumber even if they are weak.They must be focused to avoid an accident. It has been their duty to carry many passengers in the vehicle(Church) over the years. There might be bumps on the way that will slow them down or fogs in the air in the case of an aeroplane that will make them take a longer or shorter route. 

NB: The enemy's evil plot might hasten or delay God's promise in your life. 

The devil will try all that he can.He will attack, pressurise the drivers(Leaders) more because they are carrying with themselves an army of seasoned passengers(Christians) to their destination(The Kingdom of God). 

If a vehicle or plane carries more than its capacity,the possibility of the vehicle or plane crashing is very high.The driver(Leader) might even fear of crashing the vehicle(Church) because He is carrying many passengers but he has forgotten that the inventor of the vehicle(Christ); the head of the Church, has considered that same possibility before producing the vehicle and has provided the mechanical devices needed,all He just needs to do is to take charge and control the vehicle.
             If you are in the weary/worldly class of passengers or conductors,why not take a bold step of faith and join the FOCUSED passengers because only this class will make Heaven and as for the drivers that are afraid of crashing the vehicle,do not fear or panic, just let the inventor(Emmanuel)take the wheels.
